Roy Lichtenstein

Roy Lichtenstein (1923–1997) was an American artist and one of the leading figures of the Pop Art movement, which emerged in the 1960s. He is celebrated for his bold, graphic works that drew inspiration from comic books, advertising, and popular culture. Using techniques that mimicked commercial printing, such as Benday dots, Lichtenstein transformed everyday imagery into fine art, challenging notions of originality, high art, and mass media.
